Tracey Cleggett
Year 4
My name is Tracey Cleggett and I have had the pleasure of teaching at Hannans Primary since 2004. I have been teaching for the past 27 years, beginning my career out in the desert at Cosmo Newberry Remote Community School, where I worked for 4 years. I also taught at Boulder Primary and ran my own tutoring business for a few years before joining the amazing crew at HPS.
I love being in the classroom and I strive to create a welcoming space where students feel a strong sense of belonging. I love to see students fully engaged in learning activities that challenge them to build on the knowledge they have. I encourage students to use their character strengths to build positive relationships and encourage them to show respect and empathy for themselves and others.
I am married with two children who both attended Hannans Primary and now go to high school here in Kalgoorlie. Outside of school, we love to travel to as many parts of our amazing country as we can, as often as possible. We especially love camping and fishing in remote and beautiful places. I love photography and try to capture these amazing landscapes and experiences at every opportunity. As a family we spent nine months travelling around Australia in our camper trailer in 2016 and it was the most amazing experience ever. I’m still dreaming of packing up and heading off again!
I look forward to meeting everyone throughout the year!
